Pivot HR Services is headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with additional consultants based in Toronto. While we have physical roots in these cities, our virtual operating model allows us to support clients nationwide. We regularly partner with organizations from coast to coast, ensuring accessible and responsive service regardless of geographic location. This flexibility allows us to bring national reach with a personalized, local approach.
Pivot HR Services works with a wide range of organizations across all sectors and industries. Our clients include: private sector, non-profit, local government, Crown corporations, First Nations communities, and both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. We support start-ups navigating early HR infrastructure, as well as large, established organizations looking to evolve or strengthen their people strategies. No matter the size or structure, we tailor our services to meet each client’s unique needs and context.
We offer several flexible service models to meet the diverse needs of our clients:
- Pay-As-You-Go: Ideal for clients who need occasional support. You are only billed for the hours we work, making this a flexible and cost-effective option.
- Monthly Retainer: For organizations needing consistent HR support, this option provides a set number of hours each month. It helps with budgeting and ensures priority access to a dedicated Pivot Consultant.
- Project-Based Fees: For defined services like training or executive coaching, we offer flat fees that include all preparation, delivery, and follow-up. This provides cost transparency and clarity from the start.
Clients come to us with a wide variety of HR challenges, ranging from urgent concerns to long-term strategic goals. We support compliance through proactive, informed HR practices. This includes conducting HR audits to identify potential risks, drafting and updating policies and procedures to reflect current legislation, and advising on the consistent application of those policies. Our team stays up to date on employment law and best practices to help clients reduce legal exposure and build fair, respectful workplaces. We also provide training to ensure compliance is embedded into day-to-day operations.

We take a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to workplace culture challenges. This often begins with cultural assessments or employee engagement surveys to understand current dynamics and areas for improvement. From there, we collaborate with leadership to design targeted solutions such as team-building workshops, values alignment exercises, or leadership coaching. We also offer training programs that support inclusive, respectful, and communicative work environments. Our goal is to help organizations create cultures where people feel valued, safe, and motivated.
Yes, we have extensive experience working in unionized settings and understand the nuances that come with them. We help organizations foster collaborative relationships with unions while maintaining operational effectiveness. Whether you’re new to a unionized structure or navigating complex labour dynamics, we can provide knowledgeable, practical support.
